07/11/2010 - YOU ARE BLESSED BY THE LORD

May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 115:15)

The statement above is a command, so there is no alternative. Those who take this divine order upon themselves will realize that they can enjoy any blessing. However, he who does not do that will be deprived of the heavenly gifts.

The Lord did not specify on what things we will be blessed. By generalizing the commandment, He gave us the freedom to claim what we desire. In fact, there are no limits for those who learn through the Word about the blessings they are entitled to. Then my brethren: no matter what your ministry is or the work you are doing: just cry out to God and you will receive the divine reward – as a matter of fact, it is a privilege that the children of the Most High have by believing in Jesus.

It\’s wonderful not to have any doubts as to whether we can claim our blessings because once we find out the things that are in store for us then we can take possession of them. That is what the Holy Spirit is telling us through this verse.

Now, consider this issue from another perspective: as a responsibility. If the Almighty tells us to do something, we cannot disobey Him because we shall be responsible for what the Lord has entrusted to us. If we do not treat our body well – which is the temple of God’s Spirit – we will be considered sloppy. The same applies to salvation and to the testimony that we and our family must give. The shortage of material resources and of other blessings is a declaration of lack of confidence in the Holy Word.

The conditions for this command to produce what it says are the same for receiving any other help from Heaven: we do not have to do anything special for the Lord to fulfill His promises; we just need to exercise our rights with faith, using the name of Jesus.

The way we live shows if we are successful or not. The Lord God wants all His children to be blessed. Now, saying that He simply “wants” you to be successful is an understatement; actually, He commands you to do so. So if you\’ve never lived this way, ask Him for forgiveness and, from now on, assume your place in Christ by being a prosperous person.

There will be a day when we will be held accountable as to what we did concerning the statements the Lord made about us. He who is found silent or sloppy in this regard will have to explain the inexplicable. A divine command is something to be obeyed. In fact, we have an obligation to live within this divine will. So my brethren, you’d better open your eyes and realize that what religions teach about this subject vary greatly. But keep in mind that no one will replace you on Judgment Day and that being successful is better than living with defeat.

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
