So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. (Psalm 63:2)

Many people, in order to learn a little of Science, take long and difficult courses; they stay up all night studying and because of that, they even get ill. Knowing what man has accomplished and studied throughout the ages is very useful, however seeking the wisdom of He who created all things is infinitely better and more rewarding. Nonetheless, few are going to the sanctuary to find the Lord! God has a sanctuary where we can find Him – His Word. There, whoever seeks will find Him.

Have you attended the Lord’s sanctuary? Sometimes? Never? If you have, how have you proceeded? Very few people take time to read the Bible and meditate on its message, but those who do it find the light that will shine on them as well as on other people and they will live better.

In the past, people did not have the Spirit of the Lord, therefore they were not called sons of God, but only servants (Galatians 4:7), and as such they could only go to the physical sanctuary. Today, we have the true sanctuary, which is spiritual. Those who go there find Life; they do not leave it empty-handed, because the Lord makes Himself known to them.

It was in the sanctuary that David sought the Most High and for him the Lord was the strong God. Whoever draws near to God\’s Word is also able to find Him as the supplier of his every need. If you need healing, you will find Him as Jehovah-Rapha (Exodus 15:26). If you need help concerning your finances and property, He is El Shaddai (Genesis 35:11). If it is salvation for the soul, He is Jesus Christ, the Savior. Those who do not attend the hiding place of the Most High will never find Him.

The psalmist went even further when he opened his heart, showing that he sought the Lord eagerly. For him, seeking the Lord was a matter of life and death. He was determined to find the Refuge, the Fortress and Helper of Israel. To this end he spared no efforts and did all he could to have Him by his side. Today, those who strive will not be confused; they will have God\’s response to their request.

David defined his search for the Lord as a soul thirsting for God (Psalm 42:2, 63:1, 143:6). For him, the most important thing was to find the Lord of Hosts of Israel. When we are thirsty, we do anything to find a water fountain, don’t we? That’s what all who want to find God do.

Even the psalmist’s body longed for the divine presence. For some, the body makes them seek the dark places of this world to quench their fleshly appetites. However, the men of God are different because as servants of the Lord they cry out, sigh and pay whatever price is necessary to satisfy their spiritual hunger. Without the Most High, the psalmist felt as if he were in a dry land without water, but he sought God and his thirst was quenched. You should do the same – the result is guaranteed! (John 6:35).

In Christ with love,
