To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; for God is my defense, my God of mercy. Psalm 59.17

The person who has a good lawyer enters in court with great hope of being absolved, even knowing that the crime he committed could bring him a long sentence. On the other hand, those who cannot afford a good lawyer know that they will be punished beyond their crime. The difference is in the person who will defend your cause. Never reject the Lord’s offer, for He is your excellent Defender.

We have the best Lawyer of all times: Jesus. He is the Truth, knows our weaknesses, and can free us from death, which is Satan’s nature. When He was in our midst, the Father allowed the Savior to be tempted in everything, so that He could free everyone who would come close to Him. God’s plan is that you might have your sins forgiven and might walk in newness of life (Rm 6.4).

Christ is more than a lawyer. He declares Himself to be All-Powerful, the One who has the power to free us from all the diabolic situations that we might be involved. There is no other way of escaping condemnation unless by being freed by His power, washed by His blood, and regenerated by the Holy Spirit. This is the work that everyone needs in their lives, or else, there is no more hope.

Since He is the Savior of mankind, Jesus is our Defense. The devil might raise his dirty finger and shout that we are sinners, but Christ will reach out His powerful hand and will say that He died in our place, paying the price for our salvation (Is 53.4,5). Now, if you allow Him to be your defense, you will not be condemned. Since Calvary, condemnation is something that belongs to the past.

The Lord is a God of mercy! Therefore, do not fear to go to Him and ask for His forgiveness, for He has invited all the weary and burdened (Mt 11.28). So that you might have the remission of sins, Jesus poured until the last drop of His blood. Since that moment, the spotless God does not see you anymore as lost and unsaved, but He sees you through the blood of His Son. Thus, He will forgive you and will wash your iniquities away.

Therefore, considering all that God is doing in your favor, start to sing praises and to thank Him for forgiveness. Now, enter in the eternal Stronghold and be sheltered from your temptations, freeing yourself completely from condemnation. Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies (Rm 8.33). However, do not forget to reconcile with those you offended. If you act in such a way, you will have the conditions to obtain the divine favor.

Why should you fear, if the Lord is your Defense? Why not enjoy now and open yourself to Him, receiving the purification of all your wicked acts? Your blessing has come; God is looking into your heart now to forgive you completely. Be brave enough to free yourself from your transgression. Your victory is guaranteed!
