Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless.

II Peter 3:14

Those who have been enlightened by the preaching of the Gospel are expected to evangelize as many lost people as possible, but they mustn’t forget that they also are supposed to wait and get prepared for the second coming of the Son of God. Although the work of God is beautiful and blessed we mustn’t allow it or anything else to prevent us from waiting for the coming of the Son of God which will be the crowning of our faith in the Lord Jesus.

Such awesome event will be the most important of all times. The Most High created the material world out of nothing and now, with the coming of His Son, everything will be dissolved with fervent heat. The elements will melt in that bonfire (II Peter 3:12) and where will we be then? The Lord shall keep us safe and sound from the raging fire which will affect the whole world, but the lost will head towards the everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels (Mathew 25:41).

This is the time for us to observe the promises of the Lord God since they’ll spare us from the doom that will come upon humankind. Those promises have the power to help us today in our struggles and on the Great Day they will keep us from the destruction which will ravage the material world completely. The Word tells us to see a new heaven and a new earth (Revelation 21:1). Therefore, there’s only one thing for us to do now: just like Noah, we need to believe in the fact that the Lord will fulfill His Word to the letter.

Righteousness will be the only inhabitant in this world created by our Father. There’ll be no memory of those evil things that took place in here. The saved ones will enter the Promised Land to inherit the Kingdom prepared for them since the foundation of the world. I want to be among those who will be given the invitation to enter and take possession of the Kingdom (Matthew 25:34). I have worked hard all my life so as to be found among them.

The Scriptures say that we, who are waiting on such events, must be diligent to be found without spot and blameless by the Lord. It’s not enough to go to church or pray to be healed and to prosper. We have to be concerned about something much more significant: we must meet these requirements otherwise we will not find the divine favor.

Without those two requirements – spotlessness and blamelessness – nobody will ever enter the Kingdom of Heavens. The Scripture also says that we should be found in peace. Those who don’t strive to be in fellowship with the Spirit of God but let themselves be carried away by the lies of the enemy and have animosity towards their neighbor will end up falling in despair for if they’re not found holy, blameless and in peace, their entrance in the Heavens will be denied.

Wouldn’t this be a good time for you to examine yourself? In case you find out that there’s something which is hindering your admission into the Eternal Kingdom you ought to ask the Lord for forgiveness and, if necessary, make amends with the ones you wronged or harmed somehow. Don’t waste time! Make your paths straight and take the right Way to enter the Kingdom!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
