Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. James 1.16

Those who do not obey the Lord’s order given through His Word, listening to what others say, are deceived. This is what happened to a man of God who heard a false prophet and ended up being killed by a lion (1 Kg 13.20-24). The mission that we receive from the Most High must be fully accomplished, even if someone tells us that the Lord has changed his mind or has another mission for us.

If you know that the Word of God has commissioned you to do something and you don’t, you are in the path of deception. We cannot swap what the Father orders for what we think is more productive or appropriate for us, as Saul did when he was ordered to annihilate the Amalekite leader and all his belongings. Even if you may have the best cows, sheep or other material goods in the world, do not neglect the commandment that was given to you.

Those who do what the Bible disapproves are deceived, and will certainly be condemned in the great Day. Jesus talked about many workers that did not get to know Him because they were living with sin. In Judgment, they will say that they expelled demons in the Name of the Savior, healed the sick and prophesied, but these men’s allegations will not be accepted, since they chose to practice iniquity (Mt 7.21-23). The Most High only knows those who obey Him with all of their hearts.

All of our being – soul, body, and spirit – must be wholly conserved for God. This is an orientation that we can never despise, for it was given to us so that we could honor the temple of the Lord, which is our own selves (1 Co 6.19, 20). Therefore, we must accept that we should take care of all our being as an obligation that must weigh on our shoulders. Those who are led astray by sin will pay a high price one day.

The person that learns how to take hold of the blessing, but does not do so, is totally deceived. It is a great privilege to know how to use the authority that there is in the Name of Jesus and that is available for the saved ones. However, since no revelation is given randomly, we must share the light where all can benefit from it. Those who know how to do what is good but don’t do it will be accused for the suffering of those they did not help.

The divine order is for us to be filled of the Holy Spirit (Eph 5.18). Thus, those who do not spend time consecrating themselves, meditating in the Scriptures, and seeking the Comforter’s fullness are in deception. Since they disobey, they stop listening to the direction that comes from Heaven, which shows what is important in God’s eyes and brings the power to set the oppressed free. When we are filled with the Spirit, we have the conditions to make the same works as Jesus did.

Finally, it is worth remembering that the devil is always trying to wound us, but the Bible declares that we should not give him space (Eph 4.27). It is the enemy who brings the lustful desires, trying to drag us to the world of sin. He is the one who makes someone despise another because of behavior, color, or race. Believe: it is always better to obey the Word.

In Christ, with love,

Holy Father! It is possible that we might be doing what is wrong in many areas. This is very dangerous for it will certainly cause us great harm in Judgment. Therefore, in the Name of Jesus, help us to leave the wide path and to walk in Your wonderful way.

Through Your Word, we learn about what belongs to us, Your commandments, and what You have prepared for us. We cannot allow our beings to fall in the hands and desires of the enemy. We do not want to shame You.

Therefore, take us in Your hands and conduct us according to Your perfect will. Then, we will be able to enjoy everything that there is of good on Earth. And in Heaven – the place where You will take us – we will enjoy of all the things You have prepared for those who are Yours.
