Chapter 33 of the book of Jeremiah is about the restoration that God promised to Israel. Verse 9 reads: Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.
This place is your spirit. The Word says that the Lord does not dwell in temples – whether majestic or humble – but rather in a contrite heart. Joy is the true happiness that God has for us. Praise is given to those who obey His commandments. And the honor is something we can understand as laurels of victory given to soldiers after a battle.
These are the blessings that God has for us. Live to serve the Lord and you will be served by Him (Luke 12:35-38).
