12/02/2013 - Is your case a spiritual one?

Pr. Jayme de Amorim

Then it can only be resolved spiritually.

The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come
from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he
cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned
(1
Cor 2.14).

You are doing everything you can, and still you can’t win; not
even with the skills you have, the friends who help you, and
especially your family. If this is the case, pay attention to what
follows, because it could help you.

In the Holy Bible, in the book of the prophet Jonah, there was a
battle against a storm that the men could not win. They tried
everything, they had cast off the weight of the ship, rowed to escape
the fury of the sea, and nothing. This is because the case was
spiritual. Jonah had strayed from his divine purpose (Jonah 1).

The fact of the matter is that many people have strayed from the
Word, or rather, from the revelation that a person received from God;
be it from a sermon or from reading the Bible. These are people who
know what God wants from them, but continue to be disobedient.
That’s why they have been abandoned by divine aide. The Lord Jesus
says: apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5).

Now we go to the gospel of Luke, from chapter 13, verse 10,
onwards. Jesus was teaching in a synagogue and there was a woman
there who, for eighteen years, had walked bent over and was unable to
straighten up in any way. It was a special situation: she had a
spiritual infirmity, a demon. This is the case with many people who
can’t lift themselves up in life; there is a malignant spirit in
their lives. A woman gave her testimony in church, saying that she
had a horrible pain in her shoulders. She prayed, and nothing was
healed. Medical treatments didn’t work either. One day, she was
watching a service in which I was preaching, and the message was that
people have to learn how to forgive, and that God was being
prohibited from acting in the life of that person who disdains the
Word. This is because the Lords says that we should love our enemies
and pray for them, that they not be persecuted or treated badly
(Matthew 5:44). At the same time she prayed, saying softly: “Jesus
forgive me, just as I am forgiving my daughter-in-law” (since she
had been very hurt by her daughter-in-law over family issues). She
then felt that someone was knocking on her shoulders, and the pain
completely disappeared.

In the life of that woman there had been a hurtful spirit, just as
many people have in theirs. Hate or resentment—these are the
things that prohibit God from acting. When a person despises the
Word of God, they are giving space to the devil.

What is the malignant spirit that is acting in your life, and
blocking God from acting in your favor? Now, someone might ask: “And
if it were a work of witchcraft, has it been ordered, is the work
done?” This is something that has to be treated in the spiritual
world, and it doesn’t help to fight it any other way. Demons only
leave through the intermediary of the name of Jesus; ghost-busting is
fiction.

Dearest, if your problem is spiritual, take it to this arena, and
there you will have divine help, with which you certainly will emerge
the winner, because if God is for us, who could be against us?
