The book of Judges, chapter 19, tells the story of a young Levite, a servant of God, who, with his heart ready to forgive, fell in love with a concubine. Without minding her past, he welcomed her as his wife and honored her.
A beautiful story of love and forgiveness experienced by that young man and his wife came to an end for a simple reason. He did not listen to the guidance given by the woman’s father, who had recommended him to stay for a while before leaving. The result was the rape and death of his wife.
Many of us have a Levite’s heart and are ready to help and forgive! But, we are in a hurry and stubborn and we don’t listen to the Father’s voice. As a result, we don’t start a beautiful story in our lives.
Jesus obeyed the Father in all things. He came into the world, “the word made flesh,” and “was obedient until His death on a cross.” He built a success story that is the role model for all of us today.
May this Word be encouraging to everyone this Christmas! And in 2012, may we live a new story of success from beginning to end, written by God’s finger, without any rush to see the accomplishment of our projects, listening to the voice of the Father all the time so that in the end we have every reason to thank Him profusely.
In the Love of Christ
