07/25/2011 - “I did not think it would be so”
Pr. Glauber Morare
He who plants a vineyard expects to reap grapes, but Noah had had a few too many and harvested a big hangover (Genesis 9:20-27)
If we knew the extent of the damage of many things we do, I believe we would avoid doing them. Planting a vineyard seemed like an innocent thing to do, just as it seems harmless when a married man has a friendship with a single woman. But things that are apparently innocent are the ones that cause the most damage.
Many people say: “I could not imagine it would be like that.” That’s why a Christian cannot take a step without consulting the Lord and analyzing their actions based on the Word.
Never consider yourself beyond good and evil! Noah in his generation was a righteous man. For 100 years he built the ark, acted in faith, but due to one hesitation he ended up bearing a terrible witness. That’s why the Bible says, “Whoever is standing, take care lest he fall.” (I Corinthians 10:12).
What have you planted? Even when we plant dedication, we must take care so as not to reap vanity.
In Christ,
Glauber Morare
