12/02/2013 - I want to get married, what now? Final Part

After we learned in the previous studies on how to make the right choice, trusting in God’s fidelity, now we are going to the final part of our study where we learn through the Story of Isaac and Rebecca. The holy scripture informs us that soon after Abraham’s servant made a prayer:

 

 

Then he prayed, “O LORD, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. 13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. 14 May it be that when I say to a girl, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’-let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.” Gen 24, 12-14

 

 

…..God did according to the prayer he had done. And from then on, feeling the answer to his prayer, that he revealed his purpose giving her a small golden pendant.
Although he had with him other valuable objects, he thought it was better to first hand out a small pendant….We should not totally open our hearts without having the divine accomplishment, so that we are not disappointed.

 

 

Only after having the family’s blessing were the other valuable items delivered: silver vases, gold and dresses. (vv53) With this we learn that there is a specific time for everything below heaven.
Many go into a relationship without knowing if it is blessed by God. I hope that in these small studies i may have helped you wait on God and not throw yourself into in relationships that are not approved before God’s eyes.
