No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (I Corinthians 10:13)
Some people excuse themselves before a temptation by saying: “I am powerless against the kind of temptation that I face; only God knows what I’m going through.”
Brethren, the Bible tells us that we can resist and overcome all temptations because God will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear. And He also says that we face the same temptations our brothers experience around the world (I Peter 5:9). The difference is that some have learned to say “no” while others say “yes.”
Although all temptations are common to all, we are quite different from each other. What a temptation represents to an individual may not be the same to another.
The Lord God will never forsake you. In the face of temptations, He will show you the way of escape so that you may glorify Him.
