01/21/2014 - The Lord Jesus is the answer

Subject to all kinds of suffering since Adam’s fall, man cries out to the Creator, asking for a solution to his woes. The Lord Jesus came as God’s Answer to man, thus ridding him of his evils. The solution lies in knowing Him and believing in the work He did on our behalf.

Adam’s deliberate act, which was contrary to the Word of God, should have never been committed. The outcome: all of us have suffered the consequences. Since then, man began asking for heavenly help, and the Lord God began to answer the pleas as they were made. However, a permanent solution was necessary for mankind to be delivered from the devilish bondage once and for all.

In Psalm 143 we see how David prayed, thus representing all the clamor of the human race:

• O Lord, hear my prayer! Give ear to my supplications; (verse 1a).

• Do not enter into judgment with your servant (verse 2a).

• Answer me speedily O LORD! My spirit fails: Dot not hide your face from me (verse 7a).

• Cause me to hear your loving-kindness [ ... ] Cause me to know the way I should walk (verse 8a).

• Deliver me (v. 9a) .

• Teach me to do your will [ ... ] Lead me in the land of uprightness (verse 10).

• Revive me, O LORD, for your name’s sake [ ... ] Bring my soul out of trouble (verse 11).

• In your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul, for I am your servant (verse 12).

God’s answer – The Lord God sent His only begotten Son in response to the universal cry of mankind and to the requests people might make. The Lord Jesus came as a man, making Himself equal with us to take our place. He died for us in order to take us out of Satan’s path and convey us into the kingdom of God. However, this work would not be something magical, which would happen with the snap of a finger.

In order for us to be delivered from any evil entanglement all information concerning the kingdom of God and what we need to do to get rid of the enemy’s actions would have to be transmitted to us: And after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee , preaching the gospel [ the good news ] of the kingdom of God, and saying, the time is fulfilled [the time of the authority of the devil over man had come to an end] , and the Kingdom of God is near [it is at hand , within the scope of man ] . Repent [change the way you think and act] and believe in the gospel [believe in the Good News ] (Mark 1:14-15). With these teachings man can play the important role he has in the act of salvation. It behooves us to make the decision and determine how we are going to lead our lives.

What the apostles learned – For a little over three years, a group of people summoned by Jesus Himself and known as His disciples or apostles, lived with the Master. They walked alongside Him day and night, seeing the Lord ministering the power of God.

The four Gospels tell us that the first part of the Lord Jesus’ ministry was dedicated to the ministry of the Word of God, the second to the preaching of the Word and the third to using the power of God. In this way, the work was done by our Savior. The apostles learned that all the teachings of the Lord Jesus consisted of applying the Scriptures to Himself: He was God’s Answer. The Lord said: You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. (John 5:39).

After the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, His disciples, obeying His determinations, set out to teach to all people that which they had learned. As the success they obtained bothered the Jewish priests, the disciples and many Christians were arrested, beaten and forbidden to teach about the name of the Lord Jesus, who worked as many miracles by the hands of the apostles as He had made them Himself. Despite all they had to go through, the disciples departed rejoicing for having been counted worthy to suffer shame for the name of the Lord (Acts 5:41) and continued to convey the most precious teachings of the Lord (Acts 5:42).

The Lord Jesus is God’s Answer to the problems of mankind, that’s why the apostles taught and preached of Jesus Christ. Why didn’t their preaching become repetitive and boring over time? Because they did not repeat the same things; rather, they proved through the Scriptures that all the promises and statements made throughout the Old Testament pointed to one direction: the Lord Jesus. He was God’s Answer to all the needs of man. That is the message that has been lost over the centuries and replaced by a multitude of religious doctrines that together are not worth a penny. May the Lord’s Church wake up and resume teaching and preaching of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Answer to all our evils.

The preaching of Paul – the Jewish scholar, formerly a Pharisee, persecutor of Jesus’ Name, who turned to Jesus in a extraordinary encounter with our Savior on the Road to Damascus – had a similar message to the other apostles: And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. (I Corinthians 2:1-5).

This type of ministry will shake the world’s foundations. Why has the truth of God been replaced by the fallacy of human wisdom? Why have people decided to learn the strategy of philosophers and other experts in communication sciences and despised the anointing which was poured on the prophets and the apostles of the Lord? Why theorize if we have God’s Answer to the petitions of man?

What shall we do? – It’s time to return to the practice of the fullness of the Lord’s will or we will have serious problems on the Great Day. These were the last words of the Lord, His last will and His last commandment: And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen! (Matthew 28:18-20)

The solution to all the woes of mankind is to know the Lord Jesus and believe what He taught and commanded.
